Follow our step-by-step registration guide below to get started.


STEP ONE

For insurance purposes, everyone interested in fencing at The Point must obtain a United States Fencing Association (USFA) Non-competitive membership online from USFA.

All participants at The Point Fencing Club & School MUST obtain a US Fencing membership.

This membership is required for insurance purposes for any participant in a group or private lesson, club sponsored tournament, or open fencing participation.


STEP TWO

Once you obtain a USFA Membership, you will select your membership option with The Point.

The Point Membership options include Collegiate, Community, Cavalier (youth), Family, or Summer, and the following:

  • Access to permanent facility with electric scoring machines and three regulation-size grounded fencing strips

  • Access to Beginning Fencing or Cavalier Youth group fencing classes

  • Access to all fencing equipment and personal protective gear

  • Access to private instructors, facility, and equipment

  • Access to discounts on equipment and fencing gear purchases


STEP THREE

Members who have previously taken a class at The Point (or elsewhere) may select to participate in Open Fencing with other members, or private lessons.  Members who have not taken a class, or would like to continue their training, may sign up for specific classes.

Classes are available Monday through Friday.

  • 6:45 - 8 pm: Footwork and Open Fencing (all weapons)

  • 6:30 - 7:30 pm: Cavaliers

    • Assistant Coaches Aadi and Ray

    • Coach Rick will attend the first two sessions.

    7:30 - 9 pm: Open Fencing

    • Coach Nick

  • 6:30 - 7:30 pm: Beginning Epee

    • Coach Rick, Judy, and Michel,

    7:30 - 9 pm: Open Fencing

  • 6:30 - 7:30 pm: Cavaliers

    • Coach Aadi and Ray

    • Coach Rick will attend the first session

    7:30 - 9 pm: Open Fencing

  • 6:30 - 7:30 pm: Beginner and Open Fencers

    • Coach Ray

    • CU Park District and Parkland

  • No formal club activity schedules.

    Fencing Illini Practice (open to all members):

    • 1 - 4 pm

    • Includes Open Fencing

  • No formal club activity scheduled.

STEP FOUR

All members must complete the required forms.

All required forms must be completed and presented with registration fees prior to the start of class or on the first day of class.

Membership to The Point must be paid each season: Fall, Spring, and Summer.

We accept cash, check or credit card, payable in advance, or on the first day of class.
